Breakthrough Properties today announced a new partnership with the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI) designed to create safe and welcoming environments for members of the LGBTQ+ community within Breakthrough Properties’ corporate offices, development projects and properties around the world.
Breakthrough Properties, a joint venture of Tishman Speyer and Bellco Capital, has earned SIGBI’s Safe Spaces certification, which is bestowed upon businesses, entertainment venues, stores and other public sites that demonstrate the values of the organization. Following a series of conversations convening national and local LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations, thought leaders and community leaders, SIGBI has developed a series of metrics and guidance for entities to receive the designation.
Through bProud, Breakthrough Properties’ employee resource group for LGBTQ+ and ally-identifying employees, the firm continues to support Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) placemaking initiatives across its corporate offices and service lines. The Safe Spaces certification includes training and education sessions on LGBTQ+ awareness, a non-discrimination corporate code of conduct, and inclusivity-based operations practices across Breakthrough’s real estate portfolio.
